PARTICIPANTS & PARENTS



 

Monday, April 23            

 

 

Tuesday, April 24

1:30 – 3:00 pm

CHECK-IN & SET-UP           Location: RAWC(Gym) Entrance

                                                             closest to P8 & P4

Students must:                                     

1. Check in with the registration table.  BRING & HAVE READY:

·      “Safety Checklist” p. 7 of Student Registration package

·      Originals of the Signature Forms that were emailed

·      5-page report, see instructions in Std. Reg. pkg

2. Set up their projects in their designated room and table

3. Obtain a “Safety Check” from a PRSF official and have their pictures taken

 

5:30 – 7:00 pm

PUBLIC VIEWING

Loc: 2nd Floor Bio Labs & Earth Sci Labs

 

·   ALL students at projects

(Projects are NOT to be taken down at this time.)

3:00 – 3:30 pm

MEAL BREAK                                     Loc: The Meeting Place

Students’ meal break. Exhibit halls are locked. Students and parents are NOT permitted in the exhibit halls at this time.

 

NOTE:  Food is not provided for participants & parents.  Students are encouraged to either bring a light meal or purchase from one of the food vendor on site.  Food is not permitted in the exhibit halls at any time.

 

7:30 – 8:30 pm

3:30 – 4:00 pm

INFO SESSION 1 – Students & Parents            Loc: DV2072

UTM will be hosting a Careers & Pathways planning session for students and parents. Please visit peelscience.ca for up-to-date information on the session.

 

8:30 – 9:00 pm

PROJECT TAKE-DOWN

·   Students take their projects home.

·   (CANADA WIDE SCIENCE FAIR TEAM MEETING & REGISTRATION immediately following awards ceremony ONLY for students who qualify)

4:00 – 4:45 pm

5:00 – 7:00 pm

JUDGING                Loc: 2nd Floor Bio Labs & Earth Sci Labs

·    All students at their projects

·    Parents are NOT permitted in the exhibit halls or in the immediate surrounding hallways at this time

·    Students may bring something quiet to work on

 

INFO SESSION 2 – Parents                               Loc: DV2072

UTM will be hosting an information session for parents. Please visit peelscience.ca for up-to-date information on the session.

 

NOTE:

·   All events will take place in the WG Davis building.

·   Free Parking in P8 & P4.

·   The exhibit hall will be locked after judging.

JUDGES CHECK-IN & PROJECT PREVIEW

·   Check in

·   Pick up nametag, clipboard, judging assignments

·   Preview projects on 2nd Floor Bio Labs & Earth Sci Labs

 

5:30 – 7:00 pm

PUBLIC VIEWING

Loc: 2nd Floor Bio Labs & Earth Sci Labs

 

·   ALL students at projects

3:30 – 5:00 pm

JUDGES MEAL & BRIEFING              

Loc: TFC Temporary Food Court (the cafeteria)

 

IMPORTANT:

·  This session is extremely important to attend.  Our head judge will be going over the judging process with some new protocols to follow.

·  There may also be some changes to judging assignments.  This will be the time we may need to add/remove from your assigned projects.

JUDGING

·   All projects must be judged 5 times.  You may be asked to judge projects not on your judging assignment list. 

 

NOTE:

·   All events will take place in the WG Davis building.

·   Judges are welcome to the Public Viewing and Awards Ceremony Tuesday evening, however, attendance to these events is not mandatory.
